My name is Frederico Gil and I´m a professional tennis athlete. I started playing when I was 4, at home, since then it has been my passion.

A life and a career full of learning, hard work, success and experiences, that make me who I am. I turned pro when I was 18 and I´ve been playing the ATP World Tour.
I fight everyday to exceed myself, to reach my goals and to make my dreams come true.

Father, Rui, is a director of an insurance company; Mother, Carlota, is a mathematics teacher…Has one younger sister, Ana, who is studying communications at university… Enjoys computers, video games, internet, gadgets and golf… Idol growing up was Andre Agassi… During junior career, won title in Bolivia and reached two finals in his home country in 2002…Following year, won junior title in Argentina and Portugal while reaching final in Brazil…In last junior tournament, reached QF at Orange Bowl…Finished No. 10 in world junior rankings in 2003…Considers hard his favourite surface.
